As of 1 February 2009, another franchisor, Lewiatan Północ, joined the Emperia Trading Group.
It will take over the rights and obligations of the franchisor in the former geographical area of Lewiatan Pomorze, and will be responsible for the organisation and development of the Lewiatan franchise grocery chain.
Upon transferring its rights and obligations, Lewiatan Pomorze will cease to operate as the PSH Lewiatan franchisor. It will continue to develop the chain of in-house grocery outlets operating as part of the Lewiatan franchise chain.
The new company will act as the franchisor for over 150 franchises totalling some 15,000 sq. m in selling space. It is an important step towards rationalising the organisational structure, strengthening market standing and ensuring further development of Lewiatan.
“The establishment of Lewiatan Północ Sp. z o.o. is the result of an agreement signed among Lewiatan Pomorze Sp. z o.o., ZKiP Lewiatan 94 Holding S.A., and Emperia Holding S.A., to rationalise the operations conducted by the former franchisor of PSH Lewiatan in Northern Poland, Lewiatan Pomorze Sp. z o.o.,” said Mieczysław Krause, Chairman of Lewiatan Północ.
