Emperia Awarded for Active Consolidation Policy

02-07-2008

The Emperia Trading Group has maintained its thirty-seventh place in Rzeczpospolita’s Lista 2000 ranking list of Polish businesses. Lewiatan Holding, which over a year ago joined forces with Emperia, is ranked forty-second.

The standing of Emperia in the Rzeczpospolita ranking list reflects a good position of the group despite the economic slowdown. It is the effect of adopting and consistent implementation of an ambitious strategy based among others on organic growth and consolidation of the Polish market.

“In 2008 we launched a complex group restructuring process. We merged our wholesale business into a single business entity, operating throughout Poland under the same NIP tax number. In July we completed the integration successfully and on schedule, and now we are already seeing its first effects,” said Artur Kawa, Chairman of Emperia’s Management Board.

The authors of the Lista 2000 emphasise that this year’s ranking list is special, as it reflects the effects of economic slowdown. Not expecting the crisis to happen, many businesses, while as their sales declined, increased the employment and investments. The same standing of Emperia as a year ago shows that the company not only did well in the difficult times but also managed to use the time to improve its position.
